Richard of St Victor

Richard of St Victor
(d. 1173)
   Mystic and Theologian.
   Richard was born in Scotland. He became Prior of the Abbey of St Victor in Paris in 1162. He is remembered for his philosophical treatise De Trinitate and for his description of the six stages of contemplation as explained in his De Praeparatione Animi ad Contemplationem, seu Liber Dictus Benjamin Minor and De Gratia Contemplationis seu Benjamin Maior.
